Elba Island lies off the coast of Tuscany and is one of Italy's finest diving destinations. Clear waters, varied sites—from wrecks to protected reserves—and rich marine life make it a must for divers.
Pomonte wreck is a highlight: a cargo ship resting in shallow water, ideal for all levels. Scoglietto marine reserve offers protected reefs and Posidonia meadows. Capo d'Enfola combines caves and walls with groupers and morays. Other spots include Fetovaia, Cavoli, and Marina di Campo, each with distinct character.
You can expect dentex, sea bream, octopus, and moray eels. In season, barracuda and tuna appear. Posidonia oceanica meadows host juveniles and invertebrates. Visibility often reaches 20–30 m in summer.
The best season runs from May to October; July–September is warmest. Elba is reached by ferry from Piombino (about 1 hour). Once on the island, dive centres in Marina di Campo, Fetovaia, and Pomonte organise daily boats. Suitable for beginners and advanced divers.
